Japan's popular variety show Pokemon Sunday is teasing a major announcement for May 10th, and signs point to the long-awaited Gold & Silver Remakes.
The offical site for the show promises it to be 'a worldwide first announcement and a worldwide first big scoop'. One major clue the show's producers may have provided is in the colour of the Confetti-filled Party balls on the show;

Due to recent rumours and many hints contained within Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, fans speculate that Nintendo will finally be giving Johto (and by extension Kanto) a much-deserved retread on the DS.
Further adding fuel to the fire is that both Japanese Magazines Coro Coro (which has revealed new Pokemon games before) and Nintendo Dream are set to feature a 'much-talked-about big title', and both will be released after the airing of Pokemon Sunday.
Would other Pokemon fans here like to see Gold and Silver re-imagined on the DS?

Angus, had it not occurred to you that maybe the fact there's approximately 500 of them could be why you don't remember them all that well later. You learned the first 150 first, so they had longer to settle in. but then by GSC you had another 150 to add to that. And so on and so forth.
The net result is that the ones at the beginning are the ones that stand out, simply because you assimilated them when there was a less large number of them to go in one sitting.
If I was to take a person who new the square route of bugger all about pokemon and showed them all 4 hundred and stupid pokemon via random flashcards, I'm pretty sure that there'd be an equal amount of forgettableness for all of them.
However, there is a point that Superlink would need to concede, that of course being that designs are being re-used.
Take dragons, of which there are plenty. There are 2 overly used designs. The Big Fat Bulky dragon (More commonly realised as a western dragon) and the Serpentine Dragon (taking it's basis on eastern design.)
Now in generation 3 we have Rayquaza. Who looks not too dissimilar to any other eastern design dragons (Dragonair, Gyrados), and Salamance, a western dragon that's been artificially widened. These designs are no less unimaginative than Charizard (western dragon on fire), Dragonite (western dragon meets the Goof Troop), or the aforemention Gyrados (eastern dragon goes surfing.) However, the designs are, effectively being re-used.
This doesn't bother me too much, I took one look at Probopass and realised full well that re-used designs are not the end of the world.
And food for thought gentlemen, it has been announced that a new selection of figurines are being released in japan. The pokemon in question are of course, Cyndaquil, Totodile and Chicorita.

They were my favourite Pokemon games to and im happy with them being remade. But at the end of the day they were Gameboy games.
Were on the Nintendo DS now..I Don't see why they cant do what the hell we all want. They must surely have the technology to fit all the regions on one cart, throw in the orange islands and all the other side quests, all 500+ howeva many the fuck there are now available on the cart, and you've got yourself the biggest selling game ever.
They could keep the trading thing alive by having legendaries available on certain copies of the games and not others..hence 1/5 people would get the crystal onix..then it would be rare and you'd trade like mad trying to get it..
I Don't know just my thoughts, happy with this though i love Ho-Oh. He'll look even nicer on the DS. Only just though unfortunately.

Orange Islands aren\'t canon, neither is Crystal Onix =.= Shiny Onix is close enough.
I think Legendaries should be made harder to find. Not to catch, they\'re still easy to catch. And not \"chasing around the world map\" that can get tedious

Diamond and Pearl can use mystery gift over Wi-Fi so why couldn't they allow people to get Shaymin over that like they did with Darkrai on Ranger?

They also gave away Darkrai at special events, just FYI.

I'm really excited about this. G/S were my favorite Pokemon games and I was so upset when my cartridge's internal battery died.
