Namco Bandai has revealed it will be releasing a MotionPlus-based cooking game on Wii later this year, under the name Food Network: Cook or Be Cooked, which promises to be far more realistic than Cooking Mama, whilst also appealing to the masses. Since Cook or Be Cooked carries the official Food Network license it comes with "proper instructions and techniques to become a star or chef no matter what your experience level." In addition to this, the developer behind the project is Red Fly Studios, a team that already has a strong CV on Wii thanks to the impressive Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars and the impending Wii version of Ghostbusters, meaning the game will look a cut above Office Create's Mama titles.
"Food Network is one of the most successful networks on television and we are excited to be collaborating with them to bring an enjoyable interactive experience that can help players become better cooks. With bona fide real-world step-by-step instructions, Food Network: Cook or Be Cooked is the best companion to create delicious meals for beginners and experts alike."
Todd Thorson, Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Namco Bandai Games America.
"Food Network: Cook or Be Cooked is an exciting new way for us to bring our brand to life for viewers and fans. Our network is one of the few that can entertain, inspire and teach in such a wide variety of ways, so we are thrilled to partner with Namco Bandai Games America to bring food fans an entirely new cooking game for the Wii platform."
- Sergei Kuharsky, General Manager, Scripps Enterprises (a division of Scripps Networks Interactive, parent company of Food Network).

Cook or Be Cooked uses real recipes created in collaboration with the chefs at Food Network to challenge gamers to prepare foods as they are really prepared, employing all the proper techniques to create over thirty different dishes using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk (MotionPlus details have not been revealed yet, but they will be integrated) to replicate numerous cooking actions.
Namco Bandai added:
"Aspiring chefs can also tackle different themed Chef Challenges to unlock new recipes. These events occur in a variety of real-life situations which involve applying the techniques learned to cook an entire meal rather than just one dish. All recipes will be playable in both single and multiplayer mode. Competitive multiplayer mode will be played via split screen (two players). Each player will have an individual kitchen in their screen. Speed isn't the only key to success; completing multiple dishes simultaneously, getting food to correct temperature and attention to detail is just as important."

This could be fantastic! Looking forward to seeing more of this, hopefully at E3. Sounds like a more realistic version of Cooking Mama and Order Up! mixed together.

Soon we can comment on this ya!?!
