Konami's long-running side shooter series Contra will be dropping down onto Nintendo's WiiWare this month as Contra Rebirth.

For 1,000 points Japanese folk can download a copy of the game from May 12th 2009. Not much is known about the title, except that it boasts high-quality visuals and gameplay that the franchise has been known for, for over 20 years.

A perfect game for Wiiware imho. I would never buy this as a boxed title.
    Great decision.
I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Same as Laurelin above. SUits Wiiware perfectly. Now it has to become available in the west... Nothing sure here, given that we still don't have Gradius Rebirth and it was released more than 1 year ago (I got it through the japanese Wii Shop ^^)

The US did receive Gradius Rebirth earlier this year, didn't it? I thought it was just the Aus/EU regions that have yet to get it...
