New WarioWare DS Starts Slow in Japan

New WarioWare DS Starts Slow in Japan on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The latest Media Create Top 50 software sales are now in, showing a decent start for the new Dragon Ball RPG, yet a slow start for the latest WarioWare on DS. The Monolith Soft-developed Dragon Ball Kai lands in second position, just behind the PSP port of Atlus's role-player Persona, accruing first week sales that are higher than the debut week of any other Dragon Ball title on the system so far and selling nearly half of its entire stock. As for Made in Ore, or WarioWare: Myself! as it is being called by the Press in the West, it starts stronger than the Wii version 'Smooth Moves', but fails to impress when compared to the first week's of previous entries into the micro-game franchise. However, given the longevity of sales for many DS games (3D Picross, No.23, and Inazuma Eleven, No.36 being prime examples) it could well manage to eventually reached the million mark that DS launch game WarioWare: Touched! achieved. The third Pokemon Mystery Dungeon to date may have started slow three weeks back, but it has now nearly reached the quarter million mark, whilst the second week for Monster Hunter G on Wii sees it reaching a healthy 172,000 units so far, still tracking ahead of the PS2 original's performance.

<3 Persona games if you a RPG fan and you not play them what are you waiting for?

Fukken can't wait for Persona PSP.

Although I don't understand why WarioWare: Myself isn't doing so well, it looks fantastic o.0;

They're still counting Wii Sports as a seperate game? Smilie

Remember that in Japan and South Korea Wii Sports is sold separately. There is no bundled game with Wii over there...

It is a separate game in Japan.

Only North America and PAL have it bundled.

I'm sure that Wario Ware will do better in the long run. People aren't rushing out to get it on release day is all.
