No More Heroes Sequel Almost Complete on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Suda51 was recently interviewed, and revealed that the sequel to No More Heroes is at the very end of production.

Speaking to 1up, Grasshopper genius Goichi Suda noted that the sequel to the Wii hack and slash, No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle, is pretty much done and that the franchise may expand to other formats in the future.

1UP: You're working on No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle for release early next year. Can you give us an update on the game and the development process?

Suda: It's the very end. If I had to say one word, I'd say it's at the very end of production.

1UP: When will we see more of the game? Will it be playable at E3?

Suda: No, not playable.

1UP: Will it be shown off at E3? Will there be a presentation?

Suda: I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully...

1UP: Do you envision the No More Heroes series hitting another platform in the future, whether it's another console or even a handheld system?

Suda: Actually, a lot of the fans were dying to play the game on other consoles, so I think it'd be great if I could do it, but there's no plan yet. [If so,] I would match the content to [fit] the other consoles. No More Heroes could be a big title, like a big IP, so it'd be good to have a chance to release the game on other consoles, and that would maybe maximize the market.

1UP: You're working on a game with Shinji Mikami and EA. Can you give us any updates on when we might see something from that game? Maybe at the next Tokyo Game Show?

Suda: It's up in the air whether we're going to show something at TGS. EA has the right to decide to do stuff like that. We can only say that we're working hard with Mikami-san, and trying our best to create the best game.

best be at E3 then

I hope the engine they are using is diffrent or they have revamped the current one.
The graphics in the last one where painful and the driving was horrible, that or they should ditch the overworld alltogether.

Hmmm... I disagree. The graphics were just fine in my opinion, and the bike was lots of fun to ride around on. Coupled with the fighting-mechanics, the game was great. "8.5" at the least. I want to see how they have built upon the first title. Can't wait for E3.

ooooh Smilie

No More Heroes is one of my most loved games. I am VERY excited about the sequel!

I agree with Mario O, the graphics do need to be enhanced and the driving could be better, for one thing the it might be better to actually be able to collide with other cars, rather than have invisible bumpers between them. The overworld could be bigger and have more people walking around aswell. It also needs more things to do, although implementing them can be time costly.

What doesn't need to be improved as much is the fighting which worked pretty well, and the voice acting, I thought was excellent.

I felt the graphics fit the style. The overworld seemed so painfully unneeded so I hope they fixed it like Suda51 said he wanted too.

I would hate to see this on other systems. Personally, I do not think it would be popular on them. Killer7 on PS2 was a port (no joke) of the GC version and it did not fare well as I recall.
