Fatal Frame IV Cancelled in Europe on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Tecmo's survival horror game, once penned for a May release in Europe, has been cancelled according to the Official Nintendo Magazine.

The latest issue has confirmed that although publisher Tecmo and Nintendo had planned a PAL release for Fatal Frame IV it will remain Japan-exclusive for now.

One time envisaged for a May release, the localization of the game has been cancelled and the game will stay as an Japanese exclusive game

Tecmo had told C3 several months back that it was on the way, but for unknown reasons we'll have to wait for Tecmo/Nintendo to shift before being able to play a Westernised version.

Very sad news indeed, would have been a good game for those of us who know one when we see it and don't buy the usual rubbish that is released this time of yearSmilie

Man, such lameness. Even had an ad going for the European edition :/ US didn't get it, but I'd at least expected it over here! Big shame :/

I'm really quite annoyed about this. The guy at Tecmo Japan that told me NoE was definitely bringing here seemed quite excited about the game finally being released in the West...and then NoE cancels it.

Let's just hope that now Nintendo has had its first refusal that RSG can jump in and take the reins.
