E309 Media | Zelda: Spirit Tracks Trailer, Screens on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Continuing on from the game's debut at this year's GDC, Nintendo have shown off a little bit more on Link's latest DS quest.

Accompanied by an armoured fellow known as a Phantom, the brave Hylian embarks on a new quest, this time taking him on a Train to rush across the land at epic speed - oh and of course blast away foes using the on-board cannon.

Be sure to check out the Spirit Tracks album below for more E3 2009 screens and artwork. The game is on track for a Winter 2009 release.

Good work nintendo. But I hope these DS games are a way of putting of a more expensive wii zelda. Because I take console games over handhelds anyday.

Looks nice, especially the train parts. I'm not too keen on the dungeon style, but if it means not having to move in a 3d space on DS I'm all for it.

Just give me some good rewards while playing this mr. Zelda developer. I can't be arsed playing for the bow and arrows again. Smilie

Cool, a whip.

Maybe Zelda enjoys a bit of dominatrix?

wOOt tunnel looks fun. Smilie

I was worried about how map travel would work, and it looks like I was right. However I'll give it a chance, it looks quicker and less tedious than sea travel so far.

Phantom is pretty much just reusing the random badguy from PH, and though the puzzles look cool he may just end up making the game WAY too easy, like PH and TP weren't easy enough?

I did love the tunnel bit though. If Link has to be on a train then giant monsters have to be chasing him, looks like Nintendo will atleast fulfil that wish!
