Street Fighter IV on Wii Still Possible?

With Tatsunoko vs Capcom heading outside Japan, some have had hope for Street Fighter 4 to make it to Wii. Capcom's answer: never say never.

In a discussion on the Capcom Unity boards, users asked if the much sought after Street Fighter IV would ever come to Wii.

Capcom's Christian Svensson and Seth Killian replied, urging fans to not give up hope.

Never is such a long time. Beyond that, I have nothing to add right now.
Sr. Director of Strategic Planning & Research, Christian Svensson

[quote]While not every aspect of Street Fighter IV's presentation would likely be possible on the Wii, the core elements are obviously possible. As for 'never happen,' I'd hope that if Tatsunoko vs. Capcom has taught us anything, it's that we should never say never when it comes to Capcom.

Meh,, I recently bought a 360+SFIV (and some other disappointing games =D), and yeah,, They need to do some major tweaking to the game's mechanics anyhows.
Might as well redo the game for Wii and tweak it then, aye?

At least they are more honestly then other companies. They don't have it done, yet, but if people plea (good lord, I am glad I got that 'l' in there) a lot, they may start this game.
And if Tatsunoko vs. Capcom sells great, they may be considering SF4.

You may not forget, that alsmost no fighters worth mentioning are out on Wii. They have to wait even for their own brand - T vs. C - to sell well to even see if it's worth doing.

I am a bit sad, that Okami and Co didn't sell that well on Wii for them to fully jump onto the Wii waggon, but I hope some core titles will sell extremely well from now on.

Furthermore, I am not into Street Fighter, never was, but it's stylish.
I find your lack of faith disturbing!

    Too late, sorry.

Unless of course it's a huge improvement, with extra characters etc. (Maybe some Nintendo-themed stuff? It would be great to play in a Mario level.)

hmmmmm Could the animated 2-D Graphics return?

i liked STF3 3rd strike because of the faster paced fighting and the 2-d animation style of the game it would be perfect for wii so i see no problem in have a 4 on wii with these conditionsSmilie

I wouldn't want a Wii version of SF4 anyway. As far as I'm concerned, there's no point in hacking up a game just so that it will play on a less powerful system. I'm more than happy with Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, and once I get a PS3 I'll be getting Street Fighter IV as well. I think it's kind of stupid that people are asking for something like this when Capcom already tried the same basic premise with Dead Rising, and everyone hated it.

Well there's no reason for it not to be on Wii. Other than the graphics being really toned-down, there's no underlying gameplay that is too technical for Wii. It's just a fighting game. So long as they didn't fuck it up with wiimote controls, I'd be game.

Not really, the PC version hasn't even been launched yet, so it could coinceide with that (unlikely)
It's a good platform for it too, there are already fighting sticks available for the Wii.

I think a Wii version of it would be cool if they do it right, and it comes packed with a classic controller or something. Still, I'd like to get my hands on Tasunoko Vs Capcom first cos that shit looks awesome.

Also, my brother has SFIV on the 360 so I wouldn't need to get it.
