LucasArts Hoping to do More Adventure Games on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

LucasArts, once known for high quality adventure games, has revealed a desire to make more if the new Monkey Island games sell well.

The publisher is working on an enhanced remake of the original game, The Secret of Monkey Island, for Xbox Live and PC, as well as collaborating with TellTale Games to produce a spin-off episodic adventure - Tales of Monkey Island.

If this sells, there's no one at this company who doesn't want to do these games. It's a matter of showing that there's interest and this market is alive and get people as excited as possible about Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition to show that these things can make it.

LucasArts community manager Brooks Brown

With LucasArts now taking that risk to bring back the Monkey Island franchise, fans might be seeing remakes of Full Throttle and Grim Fandango in the future.

Thanks to 1up.

Are you a fan of Monkey Island? Will you be downloading the enhanced Secret of remake, and/or parting cash for TellTale's all-new adventures? What adventure games (not neccesarily from LucasArts) would you like to see brought back?

If their not releasing the SoMI remake on WiiWare, they are utterly, utterly stupid.
Should be on DS too.

Tidy up the graphics by all means, but you dont need HD to enjoy these games.
They should be releaseingt these on -every- platform.

Anyway, I'll buy tales of monkey island for sure.
Just not sure to buy on wii or pc.

Personally I'd be happy that Wii owners are getting new episodic games rather than a remake.

The games have quite a cult following by now, I think if these new ones and the remake do well then people will finally get that Monkey Island 5 they always wanted.

I'll try to get Monkey Island. I've heard great things about. But I'm really interested in playing Grim Fandango at some point.

Is it download only? I can't justify handing money over for something that I can't hold in my hands.

Definitely will get Tales of Monkey Island as long as it's better than Escape from Monkey Island. With Telltale working on it, I'm sure it will be.

I couldn't think of anything better than a full HD remake of Grim Fandango. Ever.

Wish they make a new game like Grim Fandango
