Living Room Cinema for Japanese Wii Owners on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Japanese Wii owners will soon be able to receive full-length cinema content from service provider Sonic Solutions.

According to After Dawn, the CinemaNow service will be available to Wii users via a partnership with Fujisoft's Everyone's Theater channel. It's not known how much of the 1500 movies, docs and short films will be available, but it'll likely be a big chunk of the documentary and family section.

Nintendo are also intending on bringing over a similar service if it proves over in Japan.

Do you think the Wii needs a cinema/streaming service? Would you be interested/use it?

Well until Nintendo of Europe sort out their servers I don't think they should bother. I have broadband speeds of around 16Mbps and my Wii is connected by Ethernet (not wireless) and most of the Nintendo Channels still have buffering issues.

I wish they would bring all new Wii Channel that were released in japan to the U.S. I know that's a really weird request but I want it to happen because the U.S. hasn't really had any new Wii Channels lately, so at least bring so me to the U.S. but they don't have to release it at the same exact date or anything like that.
