Final Fantasy Gaiden Site Launches on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Square Enix have made Final Fantasy Gaiden official with the launch of the Japanese website.

An early translation has shed some details on the ever-so-original story and faces behind the project. A young boy known is due to be recognised as an adult by visiting the kingdom's castle. When he arrives he notices that the King is distraught - the princess has been snatched by the "Witch of the North", and now as a young adult he sets off to save the princess and meet new friends along the way.

4 young boys and girls will meet and depart many a time. Sometimes they will quarrel, and whilst building relationships, before long they will be saving the world.

I have a feeling that S-E are making the story and characters as cliché as humanely possible on purpose, for all the nostalgic gamers out there who want to be playing RPGs in 1986 again. Smilie

Story set up sounds kind of similer to FF1.

Cool. Live-a-Live's a brilliant turn-based SNES RPG that looks and plays as well as FF6. As for Half-Boiled Hero, that's 'Hanjuku Hero' (or 'Egg Monster Hero' as the DS version was to be called in the West).

    Can't wait for this Smilie
