The latest Media Create Top 50 has shown Wii Sports Resort (C3 hands-on here)has romped to No.1 in its first week of release over in Japan, showing that although sales in general may have been rather lacklustre for the Wii console and its line-up over there in recent months, cleary gamers are eager to get their hands on this Wii Sports successor and its MotionPlus add-on.

Wii Sports is a good game because:

1) It was free

2) It was sort of a "demo" game

Making a new Wii Sports that is an actual game and not just a demo is weird to me. But, oh well, if one of my friends get it, I'll check it out.

I just reserved mine on Amazon yesterday. I can't wait. It will be my first purchase for the Wii since Christmas.

Also because it's fun to play (in multiplayer).

I'm looking forward to playing the new ones (with somebody).

Making a new Wii Sports that is an actual game and not just a demo is weird to me.

No more weird then any other sports game.

I dont think thats an entirely fair comment. Bought Grand slam tennis and that is a far more complete package then the whole of wii sports. Simply because it has a career mode and more depth as far the sport is concerned: singles, double as well as mini games, Online, different surfaces and so on.

Heard wii resort has more options of how to play each sport but now I will have to pay for this so I will be far more critical if its lacking.
Does it have online play?

Wii Sports Resorts has 12 sport categories compared to the originals 5. This, and the fact that WM+ is said to make some of the games amazing to play (table tennis), then I can easily see this being worth the price.

Plus, I still believe that Wii Sports wasn't free. The price of the Wii would have been cheaper if it was sold seperately I think.

Just read the IGN AU review and thats gotta be a joke right?

IGN AU Wii Sports Resort Review. Score = 6.5/10
Yeah, I\'d wait for more reviews. I loved the first so I can\'t see myself being disappointed with this one.

ONM gave the game 94%, but since they\'re biased, I\'ll wait for more credible reviews.

Why does the AU IGN review have to be a joke or over looked. Because it gave a nintendo in house game less then 9?

Reading the review it seems to highlight legitimate concerns. We all knew some of the "sports" would be crap and so it seems. Also depth of how you can enjoy these sports is still a problem. But now we have to pay for this game, it isnt free. It has to be reviewed with this in mind.

I think the AU reviewer thought that each game on WSR should be as big as a stand alone sports game. It's like he went into the review with the intention of bitching about everything. He wasn't a fan of the first WiiSports so I don't know why he bothered reviewing the game since he had obviously formed an opinion before even playing it.

That sort of review bugs me - it's like EDGE giving Another Code: R 4/10 as it was reviewed by someone that doesn't like adventure games and thought the game was too text-heavy Smilie

If it's reviewed honestly, I don't see the problem. I could just as well complain about a guy reviewing all RPG games because he is in love with the genre.

In both cases I adjust my want-o-meter accordingly.

Another Code is great.
Edge hasnt been trustworthy for review scores for quite sometime now.
Great at articals, but reviews are never that good.

I know its cheap of me, but this is relivent;

Please folks, check out my site;
www.rateoholic.co.uk

Its a site for people to review games, films etc then it tries to match your taste to other reviewers.

So, effectively, its doing the "want-o-meter" adjustment for you Smilie

Yeah, sorry to plug my own site, but it should be just perfect for situations where you like a particular genre and want to see reviews by other reviewers that share your taste.

(the sites in beta at the moment, the new version will be a lot more slick once I'm finished).

Yes I checked that site out. Why are there only cd reviews from 60 years ago though? (may be an exaggeration)

Whats with motion plus and its inability to stay calibrated. It gets in the way when Im playing with it and its a problme for wii resort so I read.

I have a feeling this wont be a problem for the PS3 wand.

Its not a problem, not according to any reviews I read.
Remember analogue sticks have to \"know\" a natural position? If you turn something on with them off center, it gets mixed up? Well, this is kinda like that.

Probably because theres only about 5 reviewers at the moment Smilie
And one accidently posted everything on the forum, rather then the site itself. (still gota copy that all over)
