Suda Hopes Travis Touchdown will do Smash Bros. on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Suda 51 has revealed his desires to take Travis Touchdown onto bigger things, become a huge star, maybe even Smash Bros...?

The beam-sword-wielding chap is currently set to make his last appearance on the Wii in No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle, but could Suda's love for his creation take him into other games, say Nintendo's Smash Bros?

I like a lot of my other characters, too, but Travis is my favorite. He has a special place in my heart. He's a good friend of mine and I really wanted to work with him again. I will stay with him until he dies...

I love him, and I want him to be a huge star. That's why I'm working very hard to make this game as interesting as possible. Maybe in the future, we can see him fighting alongside Link in the next Smash Bros. [laughs] That would be great.

Is Suda hinting at things to come for Smash Bros, or just wishful thinking from the cheerful game designer?

Right then Mr 51, go up to Nintendo and tell them you want him to be in the next Smash Bros, because they're not going to ask you! Capcom had that problem too.

Meh. Still not played No More Heroes. I will eventually, it really is dirt cheap now. The only 3rd party character I would love to see in the next Smash Bros is Banjo and Kazooie. Can\'t see that happening though. Smilie Still, I\'m sure most people couldn\'t see Sonic and Snake happening either...

I've got no issue with Travis going in the next Smash Bros., but didn't Suda just come out and say that the Wii wasn't good enough to evolve the NMH franchise on?

I'd love to see that, I've been thinking of it ever since NMH1 came out. He'd fit in well, too, considering his moveset and a whole plethora of possible Final Smash moves. Apparently Suda even helped in some aspect of development for Brawl. I think if he approaches Nintendo/Masahiro Sakurai, just like Hideo Kojima did, about including Travis in the next game, there's a fairly good chance. I sure hope he shows up, anyway, and it's nice to have this new tidbit to refute accusations based on Suda's last statements that he's turned his back on Nintendo.

Hell, I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't bought out GHM by now (hint to the Big N: YOU OUGHT TO).

haven't played No more heroes before but im all for seeing good 3rd party characters in brawl. (Geno, Megaman, Rayman, etc)

If possible, change around the 3rd party characters in the 4th one. (or make them better....)

Well Kojima was already good friends with the Smash development team, so it's more like...

Though Suda is good friends with Kojima so maybe he can put in a good word. Smilie

I would be severly pissed off if Travis was in the next smash bros. Both Snake and Sonic earned their places in Brawl by being gaming icons. Travis is, honestly, just another wannabe. Do you honestly think Travis has anything on Sonic or Snake?

Once again a place in the Brawl roster has to be earned before one can even think of obtaining such an honour. Smilie

Travis>Sonic any day. Even if you think NMH is crappy, you at least have to admit it's artistic... or even just "not hilariously bad". Which is more than can be said for Sonic these days...

Also, Suda seems to be friends with Sakurai as well, if the aforementioned fact that he was name-dropped in Brawl counts for anything...

Even if Sonic's games are pretty sub-par atm, it's the character himself who was put into Smash Bros, not the series. The character is still very popular with gamers, they just don't like how he "turned out".
