The Grudge Flops in Famitsu Review

The Grudge Flops in Famitsu Review on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The latest scores from this week's Famitsu magazine are in, with AQ Interactive's Ju-On game for Wii not doing too well.

What's being dubbed as "haunted house simulator", Ju-on: The Grudge (Wii) wasn't received so well by the magazine, receiving 22/40 from four reviewers. Sega's puzzler for DS, Puyo 7, did a fair bit better earning 32/40.

Puyo 7 - 8/8/8/8 (32/40)
Kutsushita Nyanko: Shiroi Kutshushita wo Haita Neko to Kurashi Hahimemashita - 7/7/7/7 (28/40)
Saikin Koishiteru? - 6/7/7/7 (28/40)
Ju-On - 6/5/5/6 (22/40)

Well, obviously, because one gives stackloads of gameplay, and the other is questionable if it gives gameplay at all.

Very disappointing to see such a low score for Juon...However, I do try to take Famitsu reviews with a pinch of salt at times.

Well... yeah. I thought this one was cool until I saw the actual "gameplay" concept... which of course is basically nonexistent. Yeah... it's a pity. Guess not all filmmakers know how to make a decent game.

Indeed.
Horror-as-a-game normaly works best when it takes the "What would you do in this situation?" question, and allows the player to play it out.

I dont know what to think of this game bedcause the films were really creepy and well made. I will have to see more gameplay trailers to see what I think.
