Nintendo Takes Whole Top 5 in Japan on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The latest Media Create sales data shows that Dragon Quest IX still reigns supreme in Japan, with Nintendo an overall winner. Square Enix's ninth mainline entry into the immensely popular Dragon Quest RPG series remains firmly atop the Media Create Top 50, whilst Nintendo's Friend Collection and Wii Sports Resort both increase in sales to stay ahead of strong new entries for Konami's second DS penguin title and the second Chibi-robo! DS game that harks back to its GameCube roots. Sadly, Punch-Out!! on Wii has started off terribly slow, barely scraping into the Top 20 and emulating its poor European sales. The game has so far only been a success in the US.

Check out the full chart below, as well as the hardware listings, showing off somewhat of a slow comeback for Wii in the run-up to Monster Hunter 3's release:

How about nintendo picks up an old franchise that involves a world to explore and characters you might care about. opposed to franchises like punch out and excitebots that fit neatly into that 'pick up play for half an hour then put down, less costly to make might please veterans will please casual.'

But then you will just use the old line "Dang we need some new IP's! bla bla bla"

Just buy an 360, seriously.

No on both accounts. Dont care if the IP is new or old. I just care about the gaming experience. Finding it difficult to play games using two analogue sticks. I cant quickly and precisely play first person games or games like gears of war. just want to experience more games using a combo of IR and motion control. 2010 cant come soon emough. Wiis line up this year doesnt excite me much
