Europe has a Grudge for Wii in October on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Horror fans can get a taste of Ju-On this October in Europe, with the Wii horror instalment The Grudge.

The "fright simulator" has been designed in the same vein as the horror series, expanded for a wider audience. Players will control the action on screen to try and scare others.

We see Ju-On as a title that can be enjoyed by everyone and, when played with friends and family, a horror game that you can all have a laugh playing. Ju-On: The Grudge is based on the Japanese horror film of the same name, which spawned a 2004 re-make starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. And the creator of the original movie, Takashi Shimzu, has worked closely with the game's developers to help recreate the film's creepy atmosphere.

Ju-On is one of our key releases this side of Christmas. It carries with it a high pedigree in Japanese horror movies - it is an icon in its own right. Couple that with it being a terrifying interactive experience and the heavy involvement of the director of the original movies and you have the recipe for a truly immersive fright-sim.

Rising Star's Yen Hau told MCV.

Rising Star will release Ju-On: The Grudge, on Friday October 23rd 2009.

I'm still rather sceptical of the "interactive" nature of this.
