Earthworm Jim WiiWare a Remake on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Gameloft and Interplay recently announced an Earthworm Jim project due on WiiWare, confirmed now as a remake.

Earlier this week the French studio discussed plans to work on the much-loved classic franchise, but it wasn't known whether it was a totally new entry, a port, or remake.

Since then G4 has confirmed with Gameloft that it'll be a remake of the 1994 original released on Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis/Mega Drive.

I have not played an Earthworm Jim games in a LONG time. Remake or brand new game I'm glad to play something with this classic character.

Abit disssapointing, considering there are very few games in the series to start, an addition would of been nice. Also i was hoping for a fully 2D game but i guess its gonna be 3D for sure, unless they do what Wario Land Wii is like. Still, I'm glad their trying to bring him back one way or another.

I think that this will be an attempt at a "series reboot" followed by EarthWorm Jim 4 in a year or so's time.

I can't wait to see how the remake will turn out!

Would have been good to have a new one, but perhaps a remake is less risky - a good introduction to an Earthworm reboot (hopefully!)

Hopefully it'll be for the better. That canceled PSP game was going to be a remake, and it looked like it would be terrible.

They should have just released the original on the XBLA and PSN. The game has aged very well. It is a little harder than I remember, but would have been okay a it is.

Instead of a remake, they should be focusing on an orignal game. I\'m still waiting for the second game to be released on the VC. Smilie
