Nintendo Bridges Wii Sports Resort with Facebook on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Earlier this week Nintendo brought Wii Sports Resort online, through the power of social networking site, Facebook.

The follow-up to the Wii launch game, Wii Sports Resort, has been a success in the offline realm. At its core the game is a multiplayer beast, for most owners it and its predecessor have been must-plays at parties and gatherings. With the Wii fully internet capable, you'd wonder why both titles lack online play - especially Resort.

To make setting up tournaments with friends a little easier, Nintendo have setup a Facebook application, Wii Party time Generator (really, we kid you not). It's essentially an interactive invitation maker that's a little more presentable than sending a text/sms or calling up friends.

Whilst it doesn't come close to actual online play, it's still a decent enough step in the right direction to online competition on the Wii.

How cute...

Or sad...

Can't quite work out which.

Trying to think of a witty signature after 'Hacker-gate'...

It's a lamesational app!

Man, if only someone could invent some sort of party system that worked over the console itself... oh wait Smilie

Didn't the Japanese box art feature a WiFi logo? I at least expected you could upload highscores...

And Mr. T, I worked it out for you: it's sad.
