First Trailer of Okamiden on Nintendo DS on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Following on from the Wii original, the first trailer of Okami DS has been revealed. Capcom may no longer have Clover Studio (now separate team Platinum Games) on-board, but it is still set to produce a new title for the Nintendo DS in the form of Okamiden, with the first video clip showing off combat situations, touch-screen usage and visuals that appear to push the hardware to its limit.

The graphics are simply astounding, however I'm of course going to be worried about the gameplay compared to the first. Chibiterasu looks too "bounding" and playful as opposed to Ammy's grace.

Shweet, I still need to get the first one Smilie

Looks gorgeous. I never played the console one, but I'll probably get this when it comes out.

It looks almost, if not as good as the original version. It looks gorgeous.

This is probably going to be great.
That one is -definitely- great.

You took the words out of my mouth.

Anyway, I'm sure this will be great, despite my usual disdain for "chibi-fying" franchises when they are developed for Nintendo consoles.

Looks beautiful. Somewhat reminds me of Midna riding on Wolf Link haha.

Wow, I never thought DS version would look that great!
Now I finally have to finish my version of Okami on Wii first. I had it scheduled as a gift for a dear friend, when no one could deliver I gave my own version away. Now I own one again at last.

Play Okami first, since Okamiden takes place after the first one.

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Also if I know Capcom then Okamiden won't be anywhere near as good as the original.

Don't get me wrong, it'll probably be fantastic, but the original was so much more than that. Also now they lack Clover. Capcom haven't made a masterpiece since all their best people left with them.

Wow that is amazing what they could do with the DS in terms of graphics. Certainly looking nice, the stylus should work great as an input for the brush. Maybe the brush strokes can be done in real time now?

How about the sequels Capcom made to the original Street Fighter and Mega Man games?

I can't really speak for them.

All I know is that Capcom lost all their best people when Clover left.

The top brass of Clover perhaps; as we know they went onto Platinum. The rest however were absorbed back into Capcom's other internal studios, which gives me confidence in this game.

Shinji Mikami (director of RE4) and Hideki Kamiya (director of DMC, RE2 and Okami), aswell as Atsushi Inaba and Masami Ueda (who worked on the same titles) were all incredibly important people when it came to Capcom\'s greatest 5th and 6th gen games.

And now they\'re all at Platinum.

I'm not saying they weren't important, but they certainly didn't make Okami amongst only themselves. No 'i' in team and all that. Smilie

If just one of those guys was in Sonic Team we'd all be much happier Sonic fans Smilie

Fixed. Smilie
I like Sonic games the way they are. Screw the Werehog-whiners and Adventure haters. Smilie

I have a good feeling about this game. The graphic-style isn't changed, wich I liked most about Okami for Wii. Lovely trailer by the way.

Hype hype hype, I want Okamiden now! Smilie

English isn't my main-language, so I will possibly make some grammatical failures sometimes. But shit happends.
