Marvelous Entertainment is continuing its strong Nintendo efforts, this time with a new adventure on DS that is being worked on by several well-known external developers as well. The game is called Sakura Note, is due out in Japan on 5th November this year and has already had its official website launched. The first screenshots of the title can be seen in the media folder at the end of this story, whilst a video clip can also be seen below.
Sakura Note revolves around a young boy who goes on an adventure and meets lots of demons and ghosts along the way as he endeavours to rescue both a young girl and a sakura tree. With audio inc. being involved, the head of which worked with Grasshopper Manufacture and Marvelous for Contact on DS, it is no surprise that Sakura Note has 2D, retro-style graphics that make it look rather similar to Contact.
Check out the line-up of staff revealed to be working on this project so far:
Music: Nobou Uematsu (Final Fantasy XII, Lost Odyssey)
Executive Producer: Yasuhiro Wada (Director of Marvelous Entertainment and creator of the Harvest Moon series)
Scenario Writer: Kazushige Nojima (held the same position whilst working on Final Fantasy VIII and Glory of Heracles for DS)
Visuals: Hideo Minaba (the Art Director for Final Fantasy IX and Archaic Sealed Heat on DS)
Game Design: Akira Ueda (the Director of Contact for DS, who set up audio inc. shortly after creating Contact with Goichi Suda at Grasshopper Manufacture)
