Stunning Trailer for Level 5 & Studio Ghibli

The Another World is the result of a colaboration between top developer Level 5, and Japanese animation studio Ghibli. Players will take on the role of Oliver, whose mother Arie dies suddenly. He stumbles upon a magic book that allows him to go to 'Ninokuni', a world opposite to the one he knows, where he learns of the possiblity of reviving his Mother from death. For battles, players draw on the Touch Screen to conjure up spells and attacks, in what will be Studio Ghibli's first game.

With Level 5's recent success with the Professor Layton games, and most of Ghibli's movies making it over in some form, Ninokuni has a fair chance of getting to the West.

no not wait for this I love Studio Ghibli work Smilie

Studio Ghibli is utterly, insanely brilliant.
Both story and animation are always leaps above western animation.

this looks beautiful. i am SO excited!

I can't believe they've still not revealed the 'Another Platform'. I honestly thought it would be Wii, but I also thought Inazuma Eleven Break would be for Wii...and yet that's not confirmed yet either. It's almost like Level-5 is fishing for the best offer from the big three.

Anyway, Ninokuni DS looks fantastic and some believe it could be the first brand new game franchise to crack a million sales in Japan for a long time, mainly thanks to the Studio Ghibli link. After all, the highest ever grossing films in Japan are pretty much all Ghibli movies.

Wow, the game looks incredible. Smilie

Quite a breathtaking trailer. I'm starting to think the DS could do real justice to a game like FFVI afterall.

Of course it could Smilie
FIV was released on the Snes/PS1 (and later, GBA)
The DS is marginaly more powerfull then a N64 (which was significantly more powerfull then the Ps1).

The DS is basicaly THE platform for RPGs, and could easily handle a very nicely remade FFVI.

Personaly, Id rather completely new games like this though.

No, it's not more powerful than the N64, I don't know why people keep saying that :x

SNES is close to the peak of 2D visuals and gameplay, but DS is nowhere near with 3D. DS could handle an FFVI remake easy peasy, I'm not denying that, but I've always been sceptical that the DS could really do it justice, especially when FFIII and IV have been chibified half to death.

What a pity that it is an RPG, they should've made it an action/adventure. Anyway it looks brilliant, can't wait for it! Love Studio Ghibli's work!

This looks absolutely amazing, they seem to have been able to capture the magic from studio ghilbi films and transfer them into this game. Stunning, cannot wait for this. I would've thought a pure adventure title might be more fitting, but I guess an RPG would've been the next best choice.
