Earthworm Jim WiiWare Tidbits on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Gameloft have revealed a few tibits of info on the upcoming Earthworm Jim downloadable remake.

The remake, for various downloadable platforms, will be based on the Genesis / Mega Drive edition with improved animation and visuals, and several difficulty levels. It'll also feature bonus content from the Sega CD/PC outing. However, with all the good news comes some bad - Dave Perry nor Doug TenNapel won't be involved, however the original Tommy Tallarico composed soundtrack will remain intact.

Finally, whilst Gameloft are pimping out the iPhone version, the studio are assuring fans that the WiiWare/console releases will have a lot of love, care and attention.

It is a shame that TenNapel isn't involved, but at the same time is it really needed? This is just a remake afterall, as long as the game mechanics aren't ruined or made clunky or anything it should be solid.

Don't worry, EWJ4 is still in early development.

good I just feel a remake is just lazy when they not been a new one for a long time

Wait, they're remaking the Genesis version? How does that make sense when the SNES version has better animation and graphics as well as a better soundtrack? Is it easier to port Genesis code into other platforms?

The vc version sucked ass like a bad porn flick.

How on earth am I going to be excited about earthworm jim... yet me being curious may make me buy the iphone version - so if there's a chance...?
