Rumour: Phoenix Wright Wii? on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Capcom's Ace Attorney series might be heading to Wii, if the German Ratings board is to be believed.

The series has made its home on Nintendo's DS, and in the past Capcom has been adamant to keep it very much a portable franchise - however, a listing fir Wii has been filed under the name of the debut game, "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney".

Thanks to GoNintendo.

Could Capcom be porting the series to Wii, remaking the original, or do you think the listing a typo/error?

Better suited to the handhelds, can't think of how they'd change this to make it work really.

If anything it should be made just so we can see gorgeous high quality sprites and animations Smilie Smilie Smilie

I don't think it's real though, especially considering how recently Capcom denied any Wii game.

If it's a NEW game, then sure, bring it on Wii. Maybe releasing it on Wiiware as episodes would make sense? You know, 1000 points download for the 1st one since it would be the file with most of the art assets and the game engine and should include at least 2-3 cases and then do DLC for 200 per extra case for a total of 8-9 cases.

I also cant see how it being on Wii would make it better.
However downloadable cases on WiiWare would be welcome here.

They moved it from GBA to DS, so anything's possible!

I see the Phoenix Wright games as more suited to WiiWare and I think it could do very well as such.

I'm not really sure how well it would do as a full Wii game, but then again Trauma Center made the jump ok.

I, too, wonder whether the Wii will bring any significant improvements other than higher resolution sprites. It could have full voice acting, but considering this is Capcom, I'm not sure that is good for the English speaking world.

Okay - let me slip this little nugget into the mix: Capcom WAS meant to be showing Ace Attorney: Episode 1 at the WiiWare/DSiWare event back in September.

Probably not...but this thread's a few days old now and hey, if the German ratings site USK is listing it, clearly the game's public knowledge now Smilie
