    Tony Hawk Defends RIDE

Skateboarding superstar Tony Hawk has defended his game against the bad comments and reviews that the game's been getting. Most saying that the controls are unresponsive.

Talking to the Sudbury Star, The Hawk has been caught saying:

They were ready to discredit it before they even tried it, and if it didn't play exactly how they imagined it...then they passed it off. I don't agree with people who say the board's not responsive. I think that they're just not giving it a fair shake. And I think a lot of them came into it with an attitude that it's going to suck.

I know that (RIDE) is super fun, and I think there's a misconception that I just stick my name on a game,I brought this idea to Activision, and I saw it through, I've been playing it every step of the way and I am very proud of it.

With the game having a RRP of £99.99 due to its additional skateboard peripheral, and the Wii version's Metacritic Score being a lowly 60, do you think that reviewers have not given the game a fair chance so far, or is Tony just angry that they don't like something with his name on?

I personally have not played it, but also do not plan on playing it either.... I am just not committed enough to plonk down 100 quid on just being able to play one game. It is Steel Battalion all over again.

At the end of the day he's only human. I'm sure noone likes being told that what they helped to make and enjoyed themselves kinda sucks. It's the same with Sonic Team. From the sounds of interviews they actually thought Black Knight was awesome fun.

But that's not how game development is supposed to work Tony.

I bought this for my son for Christmas for $120 bucks... great excitement when he opened his gift and couldn't wait to play it. 2 hours later and a ton of disappointment he still can't wait to play it. The board connects but continues to get disconnected during caliberation. I thought for $120 game they would have used some quality electronics.... obviously not the case. It's going back to the store.

Thats awesome Tony, can my kids come over to your house and play it, because the one I bought for them only gets to the page where you tell me how easy calibrating this friggen board over and over and over and over....never actually calibrating. Smilie

i think the game is awesome, but it has a little bit of troubleshooting just like any other game. I would buy it because its fun for you and all your friends when your all chilling.
