Atlus has announced that a third entry into the Etrian Odyssey RPG series is heading to Nintendo DS. Whilst the second game has still yet to be released in Europe after Nintendo slipped the first game into the market with hardly any notice last year, Atlus is bringing Sekaijyu no Meikyu 3: Hoshiumi no Raihousha (Etrian Odyssey 3: Visitors to the Sea of Stars) to Japan on 4th March, 2009.
For this third game, key members of the development team return, including Shigeo Komori (Director), Yuzo Koshiro (Composer), Shin Nagasawa (Monster Designer), and Yuji Himukai (Character Designer).
The theme this time is the ocean, with the setting being the island city of Amroad that sunk under the sea after a devastating earthquake hundreds of years ago. Players will be able to take to the seas and explore various areas, mapping out routes as they go. On top of the new setting, there will also be a batch of new character classes, such as Prince, Phalanx, Monk, Shinobi, and Pirate. There will also be a five-player Sea Quest multiplayer wireless mode available.
Are European gamers eager for Nintendo to bring EO2 over here, and are US readers eagerly awaiting this third entry?
