Nintendo has released a new promotional video for its new mature Wii title, Zagenki No Reginleiv. Due for release on 11th February, 2010, the game is being developed by Sandlot of Earth Defence Force fame and will feature four-player co-operative play via the free Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service, thus hoping to attract the million that snapped up Monster Hunter 3 on Wii over the past few months. It also takes full advantage of the Wii's MotionPlus adapter for more accurate attacking. The game is also CERO D rated, which is similar to 'Mature' or '15' rating in the US/Europe, similar to Disaster: Day of Crisis.

Check out the impressive new trailer below:

Are you hoping this game does not suffer the same fate as Captain Rainbow, Takt of Magic and Fatal Frame IV, in that it actually gets a Western release?

Nintendo makes Casual games: \"fucking casuals, Nintendo doesn\'t care about the gamers\"

Nintendo makes a pretty decent looking Mature game: \"wow so generic.\"

In small words, this is what\'s wrong with gamers today. Plus the fact that Nintendo only released 5 or so Casual games against 10+ hardcore games, GG.

The game looks pretty well into development and we\'ve never seen any of it before this. Wonder when it comes out.

@ Bart: if it doesn\'t I will not buy it. Sex is a vital part of war. *thinks of Wiimote possibilities*...
    Wow.

Agreed, it does look a tad generic and uninspiring. Mature doesn't have to mean dull...

Wow way to judge things on 1st video. If that was the case I wouldn\'t have watched Avatar but now I think it\'s the best movie ever. DO you even know what the game is about? What you have to do in it? Story? I guess all of the answers are No, so, why diss it? Oh right, it\'s Nintendo.

PS: don\'t need to insult, or do you have trouble having a civilized conversation?

    Visually? It\'s generic and uninspired.
Gameplay? Looks like Dragon Quest Swords.

I don\'t see this being amazing in any way.

Andrezao since when does not casual automatically mean mature? We\'re not so crazy on C3 anymore that mature games are something we need desperately to survive. We enjoy games because they\'re games. This for instance doesn\'t look like a particularly good one.

Maybe not to some but could turn out to be great to others, thought of that? Remember the whole NSMBwii? I didn't say non casual means mature, what makes it mature is the rating, so amount of violence etc. That's MATURE, but if you mean a game aimed towards avid gamers, more in depth game, no it doesn't seem like one. I think it looks like a Arcade type of game. But We don't know any details of it yet it could end up being a solid title.

My complaint was more the fact that Knighty and other fanboys of other platforms diss almost if not all Wii games. Fair enough it's their opinion but how do such comments construct a solid discussion? That's beyond me. Like take for instande it I don't like a console, I won't go post negative posts all the time about it, it just won't help the discussion.

Yes, bad games are liked a few people, but only a few remember.

    Remember the whole NSMBwii?

It's a hardcore game that casuals can enjoy; that I was personally hugely disappointed with. Why?

I didn't say non casual means mature, what makes it mature is the rating, so amount of violence etc. That's MATURE, but if you mean a game aimed towards avid gamers, more in depth game, no it doesn't seem like one. You can try and pass off a game with seemingly shallow gameplay as an arcade type game, but the fact remains it's on Wii and probably uses very simple Dragon Quest Swords style gameplay. I'm not saying it's destined to be bad, but I really don't think there's a good chance it'll end up any good at this point.

Fair enough it's their opinion but how do such comments construct a solid discussion? That's beyond me. Like take for instande it I don't like a console, I won't go post negative posts all the time about it, it just won't help the discussion.

It might be a good idea to choose a better example than this particular game, because in this case I agree with Knighty completely.

Negative points generate discussion on negative points too. Mindless hate and insults don't, but that's not what's happening here. Knighty said "generic hack and slashing", which it does indeed look like.

I probably would have said something similar.

PS. Knighty, don't call Andrezao a cock, unless you can make it funny and therefore lighten the mood, you smelly ass.

I would say it if it was a 360 game.

I called him a cock for saying

\"Nintendo makes Casual games: \"fucking casuals, Nintendo doesn\'t care about the gamers\"

Nintendo makes a pretty decent looking Mature game: \"wow so generic.\"
    \"

Just to put the game itself in perspective, it\'s quite hack and slashy, like Bayonetta. Do you think this game will even be remotely near as good?

It\'s from the EDF team - you play it for arcade style fun and laughs at the ridiculousnessnessness, not \"mature\"-ness.

    Anticipating this quite a bit.

But it doesn't look anywhere near as good as EDF. Besides, there's only so much EDF one can take.

We've only seen small snippets cut together, so I'm holding off judgement. I'm sure there's plenty of people on the Wii who may not have had a change at something EDF-wise to make it worthwhile, and the fantasy setting helps change it up a little bit.

"So what did you do today?"

"I sliced about 10 giant troll things 5 times my size while watching the blood spew from their wounds and shot down about 50 footsoldiers in 12 seconds."

    "And?"
It requires great courage to look at oneself honestly, and forge one's own path.

I'm reserving judgment. It reminds me of Dynasty Warriors. The trailer did not impress me personally, but perhaps the meat and the bones of the game did not show here.

What was up with that line going across the screen? Looked like someone went MS Paint and just drew it there. I wouldn't be bummed if this didn't get a western release.Smilie

I also think this trailer makes the game seem very very boring. The camera annoys me because it only shows the monster. The gameplay looks aweful, it seems like you draw a line which is then followed by the actual slash. It has delay.

    Graphics are.. decent but ininspired.
