At a special event in Japan for the anime movie Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva, it was revealed that the Professor Layton series of video games has now surpassed yet another milestone, this time selling more than eight million copies around the world. With around 3.5 million copies sold in Japan across the first four releases, it goes to show just how popular the game has become in Western territories considering only two games have been released here so far. Also, considering the fourth title in Japan is currently still riding high in the Media Create Top 10 with total sales of around half a million, the future is bright for Level-5 as 'Professor Layton and the Spectre's Flute' is the first in a new trilogy of brain-teasing adventures.

    Critical Saleing is the Key!

More then anything else I think Layton is the game that shows you can make a real high quality...yet universally accessible game.
