Metroid Prime Trilogy Stops Shipping in the US on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Various retailers across the US have stopped shipping Metroid Prime Trilogy, with Nintendo no longer shipping the game.

When Nintendo said "Limited Edition" it looks as if it truly did mean limited, with the game available on Amazon only through third party vendors/the used market.

Coffee with Games emailed Nintendo's customer service, confirming that Metroid Prime Trilogy will no longer be produced.

Thanks for your e-mail. The earlier response regarding Metroid Prime Trilogy was correct: it is no longer being shipped. When first introduced, it was announced that there would be limited availability. However, a reason for this was not announced. That being said, you may still be able to locate a copy via stores that specialize in previously played or used games.

In related shipping-fun, it seems Nintendo are still producing New Play Control games - the likes of Donkey Konga and Pikmin. Nintendo may likely now release the Prime games separately, as they are in Japan. No plans have been confirmed yet however.

Have or will you be purchasing Metroid Prime Trilogy? Do you think it should have been a regular release instead of a limited edition title?

Wow, releasing the MP games separately from now on? What a load of BS.

So, I should go ahead and get this now...while I still can?

Definitely - three fantastic games in one! How can you resist?

Considering the New Play Control! series has been killed off ridiculously early (no Chibi-robo for EU and US, whilst no Pikmin 2 for US), there is no way Nintendo will no release the NPC! versions of MP1 and MP2... Smilie Smilie

Get your collector's edition before its too late people! Its an absolutely beautiful set. Fantastic having such an epic trilogy on one disc.

You can still see them in stores, but they're running low.

Damn, looks like I should Hyper-boost!

It requires great courage to look at oneself honestly, and forge one's own path.

I bought it after playing Metroid Prime 1 and 2, but couldn't really get into the control style, funnily enough. I will have to put more effort into it, since I really want to play Corruption.

I might be upset about this, but I already own the first two games for gamecube anyway. Guess I can just buy 3 on its own.

It's almost like playing a brand new game when you play them again on Wii. Definitely worth just getting the trilogy.

Travelling through Phendrana Drifts whilst having the ability to freely look around whilst moving makes the experience a million times better. Smilie

Nintendo makes a truly smart marketing move...? Kudos.

To be honest, I never even finished MP 2. It was kind of boring... it was like the first game with new locations, basically. It didn't hold my interest for very long. Perhaps getting the trilogy would add that little boost and make it worthwhile.
Not that it matters, since I can't get it now, lol.

Hm I might have to get it now that it's becoming rare. I sold off my Metroids before this came out. I saw a store which sold a new Trilogy for less money than I got by selling my old ones. Smilie

And this might be worth more money in a few years...

I did exactly the same thing...selling off all 3 Prime games b/c this one was coming out (after I finished them, of course). Fortunately my brother bought this last week so if I can't get it, I can always borrow his.
