Luigi's Mansion Sequel in the Works?

Rumours are flying around, after Nintendo has filed a new trademark for Luigi's Mansion. What makes this strange is that Nintendo already owns the trademark, from Luigi's outing on the Gamecube.

Speculation has it that this could just be a New Play Control! version of the game or indeed it could be a sequel. Either way, it will be interesting to see how Nintendo handles it and whether we'll be using the Wii Remote to control it.

I could see how a new play control game would work, heck just make a sequel to the game! Still why are they still making these remakes, wheres my Starfox, F Zero, Waverace and 1080 dammit!

I really loved the first game, it was one of those titles that that I thought would never be relived and I'll be a happy bunny if it is.

Luigi is so underrated these days, he's much better than Mario. I mean, you could he's SUPER SLICK!!

I can't understand why a Wii version doesn't exist yet. I couldn't play the first game due to the twin analogue controls, but it seems a perfect fit with the Wii remote.

That would be a dream come true! To work for Nintendo would be oh so great! Surrounded by creative minds! I'd love to just spend a day up at their HQ and see how things are at the top Smilie

Probably just NPC, but I would love to see a new version. I can easily imagine a sequel working fantastically with RE4-style Wii controls.

Having not played the first game, I would by this if it were a full blown sequel, but not Play Control. At that point, I could just go pick up a used copy of the GC game.

Then again, I'd have to finish my other 20 I haven't finished before I could touch this. Smilie

The 1st game is pretty short. You could ask someone to borrow the game, but I know what you mean. My wishlist is growing longer and longer

I remember that being the first cube game I played. Was a bit dull. Had nice animation but it still managed to be very uninspiring. Like star fox adventures. enough with these rereleases.
I dont care if loads of new comers havent played it before. Spend how many weeks it takes to help bring out one of your new projects faster.

Personally I hope the NPC range is dead and done. I only want to see them back for really rare GC games, and we didn't even get Chibi-Robo over here (those wankers)

If it's an actual proper sequel to Luigi's Mansion, that would be more than awesome. It would be Super Slick.

I love Luigi's Mansion. It was definitely one of the best games on Gamecube. It had so much character and charm. It was a little short so I hope they make one that has a little more to it. But otherwise it is a great game.

Totally agree, loved this game...in fact I thought the shortness of it was one of its charms; all nice and compact. A proper sequel would be amazing.

Trying to think of a witty signature after 'Hacker-gate'...

Id actualy much rather have a sequal to Luigi's Mansion then any of those titles.
Oh, and a sequal to Giest too.

Sure, they wernt the best games. Both a little short too.

But perfect for Wii. Make them a bit longer, implement the controlls well, and you really got something, imho.

Oh PLEASE be a sequel! This was a great game and is well worthy of another. I will be royally pissed if its just a wiimake, it would burn on 2 levels, not only are they not adding to the series, but they'd also denie Luigi his own series!

I always did enjoy playing luigi's mansion for gamecube so if it's a brand new game I'd be pretty happy. I guess I'd still be happy if it did get wii controls and they brought the first one out again.

I thought Luigi's Mansion was pretty boring. I beat it, but I don't plan on ever playing it again. Or any wiimake/sequel.

Luigi's Mansion was pure magic. I absolutely LOVED it. So a sequel is more than welcome. Smilie But like it's been said before, a New Play Control! version would've been nice (to hold us over).

I'm a bit ticked they killed off the New Play Control! series so soon. Smilie Off the top of my head, I could name a bunch of great GC games that could do with a sweet Wii enhanced re-release. And I'm PISSED New Play Control! Pikmin 2 isn't going to be released here in the States! :-x

Hopefully it's a sequel. Luigi's Mansion at the Gamecube launch was great and I still play it every now and then on my Wii.

I've heard it from Luigi himself!! Smilie Even he wants a sequel! I'm starting to think that NPC is bullshit. You pay money for something that's already been released accept different controls? So basically you take a GC game that costs less than ten bucks (Really cheap) and then you add wii controls and all of a sudden its worth more now? It's just a port am I right?
