Kingdom Hearts Holds Off Mario in Japan on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The latest Media Create software and hardware sales have now been released, showing that despite a sharp drop in its second week, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep on the PlayStation Portable has managed to stay above New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The latest Kingdom Hearts from Square Enix has now easily surpassed 358/2 Days on the DS, but is still tracking lower than the company's two other PSP big-hitters, Crisis Core: FF7 and Dissidia Final Fantasy. As for Mario, it has now crossed the three million barrier and is still cruising along with sales not dropping below 100,000 units since release. The big new releases this week on the Nintendo front were Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles and Hotel Dusk sequel, Last Window. The former may have started at No.3, but cannot quite match the ~100,000 sales of Umbrella Chronicles' first week. As for CiNG's next DS adventure, whilst it is nowhere near the disaster that AGAIN: Eye of Providence was (the game struggled to sell over 1,000 copies in its first week despite Tecmo promoting it), it barely sold over half its initial stock to creep to just under 25,000, nowhere near as high as either Another Code: Two Memories or Hotel Dusk: Room 215 reached in their respective first weeks.

Check out all the data below, which also includes some stock sell-through rates:

So... Is Birth By Sleep any decent? Or is it just as mindnumbingly monotonous, uninspired and unappealing as the the DS' Kingdom Hearts game? >.>

Because really, that was a MASSIVE disappointment.

~Getting on C3's massive tits since 2K5.~

Wish I could tell you, but from what I've heard the battle system is like KHII's but better.

I've also heard the plot has some very wtf in it. As in "why Squeenix, what was the point?". Still, I'm really looking forward to it, and this has been in development for years now. Unlike NSMBW which was probably made in 8 months or less.

Look those crazy japs have almost bought out the initial stock of RE chronicles. Why arent they following the rest of the world and turning their nose up at it
