DLC being allowed for Tatsunoko Vs Capcom?

Recent scans have shown that Phoenix Wright (Ace Attorney) and Ingrid (Capcom Fighting Evolution) where considered for the Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, but didn't quite make it through. Dissapointed fans should keep their hopes up however as an interview with Ryota Niitsuma, the producer of Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, has suggested that the characters may still make it through via DLC, but it will be in part up to Nintendo.
Since the solution to the Wii's storage problem with the added SD card compatibility, a couple of developers have applied DLC for games on the Wii. Most noticeably seen on Guitar Hero with players being able to download extra tracks to expand the longevity of the game, other titles on the Wii lack the ability to expand once released. All companies that want to get DLC for their games have to go through Nintendo, and with the few games that actually have succeeded, they may be a tough nut to crack on the subject. Hopefully, with the large amount of popularity surrounding Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, especially within the hardcore gaming community, Nintendo will give the go-ahead for DLC

We can dream right? For other consoles this would be a no brainer, but this is Nintendo. They're so proud/traditional/up themselves that they probably don't want any retail games getting special treatment.
If it does go through then this would be the first proper dlc so far on the Wii. I just don't see it happening.

I don't really care about TvC, as I don't know most of the characters in it. I would seriously consider getting it if Phoenix Wright was in it though.

The characters in the game are awesome enough already, but Mr Wright making an appearance would be aces.

I hope that Phoenix will be in it. If he nearly made it in the game, then there is a possibility that he could be in it as DLC. Fingers crossed everyone.

I'm wondering if they could get more licenses for Tatsuoko characters and put them in the game as DLC aswell, they're just as awesome as the capcom characters.

Wait... CAPCOM DOES DLC? I thought they don't really do it, which led to the controversial idea that the SF4 outfits and the Resident Evil 5 Versus mode were already on the disc. You mean they could have remove tripping from SSBB this whole time? That's the only reason I don't play it anymore.

It's all well and good that there could be DLC, but there are so many better characters then those two. Here is a list of Tatsunoko characters. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tatsunoko#Anime_series
Even on the capcom side, what about Protoman/Blues or Bass? The Guys from forgotten worlds, how about power stone? There are so many why choose those?
