5th Cell's interactive DS title, Scribblenauts, has gained a popular following, generally decent scores and also nominations for over fifty awards, since its release. Those factors seem to have played a part in its success, with Warner Interactive announcing that they have shipped over one million copies of the game (worldwide), within just five months.

Scribblenauts innovative gameplay let players type in objects, which could then be used to solve puzzles. The game is said to feature over tens of thousands of words.

We are extremely pleased with the sales of Scribblenauts and credit the game’s innovation and wide appeal in making it a hit with gamers of all skill levels.

Scribblenauts is one of our strong original brands, and we look forward to bringing consumers more quality gaming experiences as part of our portfolio game strategy.

Warner Bros Interactive President, Martin Tremblay

It deserves every dollar it makes. It's an incredibly good game. It's not like you can play it for hours on end, but like Frosted Flakes, it's an old standby that will never let you down.

Wow with over tens of thousands of usable words. It makes it more costumable then Pokemon.

It's a great game despite the control issues. It's just so fun to think of new ways to solve puzzles.

Despite the control issues, the game deserves these sales. It's a fantastic big idea that they've pulled off pretty well in general. For me its one of those like Animal Crossing that you may not play all the time, but you'll never sell either -- you'll keep coming back to it everyonce in a while.
