It's...Z! Or at least that is its name until the Pokémon is properly revealed. Pokemon Sunday brought in Jun'ichi Masuda, one of the founding members of Game Freak, to reveal a silhouette of the new fifth generation Pokémon. The Pokémon is said to be the Z in Phantom Champion Z, which is the 13th movie in the series.
No further details of the Pokémon, or the movie, were revealed, although Pokémon Sunday indicated that February 21st will be the date where the Pokémon comes out of the shadows, and we may get further details in CoroCoro magazine next week.
This coincides with the news earlier this year that a fifth generation of the Pokémon game series is on its way to Nintendo DS.

So far I think it's a new badass Ninetails evolution, but I'm not really sure you can get much more majestic than a Nine Tailed Fox.
So maybe it'll just be this Gen's Lucario?

Yeah, I'm most reminded of Lucario. So we'll probably all think it's a legendary until Gen 5 hits the shelves and we find out it's just a standard Pokémon with a pre-evolution that they kept hidden from us.

Wow, I wonder if there will be cross bread pokemon, because it does look like a cross of a canine (like superlink said ninetails) and a humanoid pokemon.

It's obviously some sort of werewolf. I just hope that the 5th generation designs are unique and not goofy like some recent pokemon.

Guys it's a mutaded Voltorb, or a mutaded sonic.
But seriously, the design is kinda wierd if the yellowish parts are meant to be holes then it has massively slim hips and a huge chest. Also agreed with PMD. Hopefully pokemons are better designed this time around. I hated Gen 3 because of it's crap design, they all looked the same! I prefer gen 1, then gen 2 and the last(current) gen. Those have awesome designs. I love Giratina and Palkia's design.
Also agreed with SL, ninetails used to be one of my favorites from 1st gen. I also loved Arkanine (if that's how you spell it?).

Yeah, those hips look weird, has me thinking it might be a ghost type. Or maybe a new type all together, like an elastic or Rubber type Pokemon.

Well I must say, I am excited. I hope this is the beginning of a new mainseries game. The sihlouette looks very cool and it doesn't look like the Pokémon is very Spiritomb like, which I believe was a fail. If they are planning for this to be the release of the 5th Gen then they better be ready for it.

Mightyena sounds very likely after that, Superlink. The other theory going around is that it's something to do with Zangoose, hence the Z.

I agree with the Mightyena evolution. It would make sense- a wolf type and mightyena has potential but is never used.
