Miyamoto Made Pikmin for Schoolgirls on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

With Miyamoto's projects revolving around vicious plumbers setting fire to turtles and elves slaying demons, he need cutesy.

Whilst the main inspiration behind the much loved GameCube hit Pikmin was the designer's love of gardening and possibly using his creations to fuel his ideas, according to Kotaku he had a faily large proportion of Japan in mind - Japanese schoolgirls.

Every once in a while, you want to make something that high school girls can get into...

An advert around the 2001 release of the first game even featured "Love Song" as its backing track.

This reminds me, I still have a bit of Pikmin 2 left to play. Getting 100 purple Pikmin is hard... I'll have to find out what's the best cave to do so. I think I remember the first one had 3 purple flowers and wasn't very long.

Imagine it, Miyamoto in his luxury apartment with tons of schoolgirls around him. That's got to be what he thought about. You know those Japanese and schoolgirls...and tentacles...

It requires great courage to look at oneself honestly, and forge one's own path.

Did you guys know that Pikmin literally means Dickminus in Dutch?
Not that the word makes sense, but I thought I'd share.

I suck at Pikmin btw. Great games though.
