Original Level Designer Working on Sonic the Hedgehog 4

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is taking SEGA's beloved mascot back to his roots, however fans were left wondering who exactly is working on the project.

Is it Sonic Team, containing some of the members who worked on the original Sonic 1-3 games, or portable Sonic experts Dimps? It's a bit of both it seems, with SEGA recently confirming Sonic Team's involvement.

Yes, Dimps is working on the game. But there’s actually more to it than just that: at the same time, we also have members of Sonic Team, including the original senior level designer from Sonic 3 & Knuckles on the SEGA Genesis working alongside them. It is most definitely a partnership, and the result of this teamwork is something many of us are excited for.

With the presence of original designers and Dimps' fairly decent track record, are you more excited for this game?

Well there are rumours that the game plays far more like a boostless Advance/Rush game than the classic games, which would also be Dimps' fault.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love a Sonic Advance 4, but it's not Sonic 4, is it?

It would be pretty sad to know that Sonic Team can never achieve a new game that played just like the classics...

As much as I like Rush and Advance, the physics like jumping and running felt a bit wrong, not bad, but just not "right".
