Ghostwire is set to be the only third party game that uses both of the DSi's cameras in a ghost hunting exploration thriller set in your real world surroundings, and bought to life through the DSi's screens. However, developer 'A Different Game' have emphasised their feelings towards releasing their game on iPhone and Android (Google) platforms due to the location based nature of the title.

"With the DSi we have location to some extent using the wifi chip, because we can kind of recognize when the user is in a new location, or where they are somewhere they've been before." Soderlund said, "But, we're thinking of taking to the iPhone or the Android which have more emphasis on location-based gameplay".

Ghostwire is said to be hitting DSiWare just before Halloween this year.

How do you feel about the possible shift away from the DSi platform towards other mobile devices for Ghostwire?

iPhone isnt very developer friendly for Augmented Reality. You dont have per-pixal access to the camera on their official API's, and they pull your software from the store if you write your own.
Android would suit it well though.

Regardless what Darkflame says - would be a shame if the game got pulled - I think it's great for the game when it shifts towards these platforms, since they are location based. I agree with A Different Game.

It's even very interesting to see the market they seek after: iPhone, DSi and Android. That's very good. They don't drop DSi, regardless of the more difficult location tracking here (I guess they want the huge market, too) and develop for Android, a platform, which needs good games. iPhone is flooded with cheap games, maybe they struggle to the surface.
I find your lack of faith disturbing!
