Staff at McDonalds restaurants in Japan can use the DS system as part of their training with unique how-to-McJob software.

Punters who grab a few burgers and fries have been able to download and trial DS software using "Nintendo Zone" , and now staff are able to get in on the action. According to Nikkei (via Andriasang), McDonalds aims to cut training time by half by installing up to 2 DS in its 3,700 branches across Japan, helping train new part time workers.

I'm quite curious as to how this could reduce training time, let alone by half :-/

What next? Astronaut training using the DS? OH!!! THE G-FORCE IS IMPLODING MY STYLUS!

Then again, who else but the Japanese?
It requires great courage to look at oneself honestly, and forge one's own path.

Most likely as a cash register tutorial of some sort. Funny as most people I saw in McDonalds had a PSP rather than a DS. On the trains, everyone had a DS, however.

A PSP? What do you expect from people, who go there to eat food made of cardboard and oil?

I think they use the DS for showing these new recruits how to puzzle together different burgers and the like.
I find your lack of faith disturbing!

The Japanese have tentacle rape of young schoolgirls as a national fetish. Thus, their methods are not to be trusted. McDonalds is also never (under any circumstances) to be trusted. You know the "100% beef" thing on the burger cartons? That's the name of the company who produce the cartons, not a statement about the meat-content of the product.
