The Grinder Wii Still a First Person Shooter

First person shooter fans can have a better night's rest with High Voltage confirming that its horror shooter The Grinder is still very much a shooter for Wii.

The once exclusive franchise made its debut last year, boasting fairly impressive visuals and running of its shooter engine developed for Wii. Recently the game re-emerged on the Xbox 360 and PS3 as a top-down Alien Syndrome-esque shooter and many had feared the original design had been scrapped.

It is still in the works according to producer Eric Nofsinger speaking to IGN, with High Voltage hoping that a publisher would pick up both editions.

The expansion of Grinder to 360 and PS3 and its subsequent change in gameplay and perspective has been somewhat misinterpreted as a universal change across all platforms. We still genuinely love the Wii and would ideally like to see a publishing partner pick up both a FPS Wii version and a third-person action version specific to the 360 and PS3.

We have invested more than year into the Wii; the game is extremely fun, and frankly, we wouldn't want to see that work 'thrown awa,'. But when we decided to add the 360 and PS3 platforms it didn't seem to make much sense to jump on the rainbow chasing treadmill of trying to do the same game for such dissimilar consoles and end up short changing one or the other.

Oh wow, definitely wasn't expecting this.

Watered down versions for OTHER systems? That's new. High Voltage just got a tiny 1up in my books.
Conduit 2 sounds pretty good aswell.

One day I will be a real life anime.

Wow, it's almost like they've been reading our comments right off of here, haha.
So excited for this. The best possible decision they could've made, in my opinion.
If you like fantasy horror fiction, please check out a short story I wrote, called "Hole."

It's completely free to download. If you enjoy it, please also check out a collection called "Dark Things." This one is $.99, but the first two stories are free.

Wait, so those videos we saw were for the 360 and PS3? That's crazy. I am betting on Marketplace/PS Store downloads rather than full releases on those systems.

Just because a game is overhead doesnt mean its any less "meaty" or less deserving of a full release.

That said, I'm very glade the Wii still has another FPS game. Especialy one with a pretty good looking style.

Thank goodness! A potensially good game has been saved! Not to say the alternative version wouldnt be good, only that it wasnt what was already promised i guess, hell i'd still get the alt version if they release it still but on wiiware or something.

Also, keeping my promise, i will be getting Conduit 2 as support to high voltage, we're back on track people!
