New Nintendo DS Castlevania Due Soon? on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

An intriguing new trademark for Castlevania has been discovered, with thoughts that it could be Nintendo DS-related. The Nintendo DS has seen success with three games in the adventure series from Konami, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order the Ecclesia. With the focus currently on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 Hideo Kojima-developed Castlevania: Lord of Shadow, interest has been piqued by the appearance of a new subtitle for the franchise. Could Konami be readying a fourth DS entry?

Going by the name of Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, it sounds like it could well be related to the Game Boy Advance's Harmony of Dissonance, perhaps acting as a direct sequel like Dawn of Sorrow did with Aria of Sorrow, also from the GBA. With any luck there will be confirmation of exactly what this project is and what platform it is for closer to E3.

Would you like to see a DS sequel to Harmony of Dissonance from the Game Boy Advance?

I am very excited about this news.
I kinda hope it is not related to Harmony Of Dissonance as I never managed to complete it, but I'd still buy it even if it is.Smilie

I mastered Harmony of Dissonance long ago, and i'd love to see a true sequel to that one =). Harmony had a feel very close to Symphony of the Night, the only things that prevented it from nearing the awesomeness of SOTN was the GBA itself, and its hardware limitations.

If a sequel is due for the DS, imagine how close to a SOTN killer we could get ? I hope they'd take advantage of the larger DS carts we have nowadays. For the record Order of Eclesia was only 512MBit. Imagine now what we could get on a 2 or 4GBit cart ? We could even hope for a few FMVs, orchestral soundtrack and full voice acting, not unlike SOTN.

Make it happen Konami ! You already took advantage of the 2GBit on Suikoden ! Why not on a Castlevania ?

That would be great news indeed. I own every portable Castlevania released so far and have no complaints about getting a new one by the end of the year.
