New Trailer for Okamiden DS, Due 2011 on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Captivate 2010 has brought news of a western release-year for the DS sequel to the much loved Clover project, Okami.

The direct sequel to the Wii/PS2 game, Okamiden is being prepped for a release next year this side of Japan, exclusively for Nintendo's DS.

Okamiden follows the adventures of Chibiterasu, a young sun god who is summoned to protect and restore the land. Armed with a majestic celestial brush and a vibrant cast of partners with unique powers and abilities, this little god is ready to make its mark on the world.

2011!? Smilie That's long away, the 3DS will be long out by then... glad to know the DS will have some killers even after the 3DS is out. It's just like the original Okami! xD out even after the PS2 started dying...

The new trailer is great and shows this to be a true sequel to Okami that, at the moment, apparently respects what was accomplished by it's predecessor. 2011 is a looong way from here so who knows what will become of this game? 3DS enhanced perhaps?

The DS is far from dieing.
I still think the announcement of the 3DS was a bit forced and random. I think it was a rumour response, and they weren't going to unveil it till later.

Anyway, this looks fantastic.

Nintendo have tryed having mutiple consoles out at a time, DS did kill off the gameboy line but that dosn't mean 3ds will do the same, it would not surprise me if they continue supporting the DS for a good whole year or two after 3DS is released. No different to how ps2 kept getting games long after the ps3 release.

Anyway the game looks good, just looks like Okami which is only a good thing, nothing new though beside it's on DS. Will still get it but still think Zelda is better.
