Delays for Metroid and Sin & Punishment in US on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo have revealed that Metroid: Other M and Sin & Punsihment 2 will be facing minor delays. Metroid was set to release on 27th June, but will instead be releasing on 31st August. Similarly, Sin & Punishment 2 was dated 6th June, will now be releasing slightly later on the 27th June. It appears that Metroid needed more development time before its release, and Sin & Punishment was launching too close to Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Thankfully these are only minor delays, hopefully Metroid will benefit from the extra month in development. No news has been heard about whether this will have a knock-on effect and push back the PAL releases of these titles.

Where you anticipating delays for these titles? Will the added development for Metroid be worth it in the long run? Do you think it will effect the PAL dates?

Whats stupid about the whole thing with the games being too close to each others release date is that Nintendo Japan is happy to release SMG2 and Xenoblade a couple of weeks apart, both big games which both probably take 30-40hours or more to complete.

Its great they wanna polish Metroid up, its just sad we are having a Nintendo-lite year on the wii, and at this rate I doubt we will see Zelda this year

judging by the impact monster hunter has on my gaming system right now, these delays really don't matter at all.

Yeah, I just bought Metroid Prime Corruption (via the Trilogy) a month ago and haven't gotten past the first planet, so I can wait a bit before Metroid M comes out.

Red Steel 2 and Monster Hunter Tri will take way more time for me anyways... What a great year for us Wii owners Smilie
