US $199 for a Black Wii and MotionPlus?

Will America embrace the dark side and release the black coloured Nintendo Wii? An advert from retailer Gamestop suggests the country will.

It's been hinted at a lot recently that the console will be making the retail rounds this year, but Nintendo have yet to divulge any details. Now it looks like you will be able to show-off Nintendo's sleek box in your living room with Gamestop receiving posters highlighting a $199 price point (�£129.99) for the console along with a Wii remote, MotionPlus, nunchuck and Wii Sports Resort.

No date was mentioned but sources reckon it will arrive by May 9th 2010.

Well I guess that makes the Wii price more reasonable - you can get better deals with the 360 atm and considering how much more 360 probably costs to manufacture that's crazy...

They shouldn't just stop at a black wii... they should release many different colors.

Makes sense to me... a huge sales boost would result. Maybe release a Wii Slim or something?

Nintendo isn't one to release to release stupid alternate versions of their main consoles. Alternate colors, yes, but alternate structure? No waiz.

It's about damn time! Hopefully this will drop soon. I have a Wii, but have felt that we needed two at the house. THE BLACK ONE WILL BE MINE!!! HAHAHA!

I'd love one. I already have one, though. It's acting up a bit lately, but it's still under warranty. Still, if my current system was to break and it wasn't under warranty (God forbid) I'd definitely aim for a black one.

Edit: And this makes sense. They sell controllers in black, after all. (Though they also sell them in blue and pink, I suppose.) Still, cue a thousand commercials featuring "Back in Black" by ACDC.
