Sin and Punishment 2 Lands in Europe on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Sin and Punishment, originally released in Japan in 2000 for the Nintendo 64, was heralded with critical acclaim, praised for its relentless action and forged a great legacy behind it. European players were given a treat when this cult game was made available to download through Virtual Console on Wii years later as part of the Hanabi Festival. This week Wii owners can expect explosive, exhilarating run-and-gun action as Sin and Punishment: Successor of the Skies launches across Europe on 7th May 2010.

A rapid-fire arcade action game following the tradition of Japanese developer, Treasure, Sin and Punishment: Successor of the Skies pits two characters, Isa Jo (male) and Kachi (Female) against seemingly endless hordes of attacks by violent creatures from the dimension; fourth earth.

Reckon your Sin and Punishment skills are among the best in the universe? If so, the challenge video on http://www.sinandpunishment.co.uk might just change your mind! This footage shows Nintendo employees from Japan’s Mario Club performing some truly dazzling high-score feats whilst playing through each action-packed stage of Sin and Punishment: Successor of the Skies on Wii. Watch, learn and then see if you can do better than these shoot ‘em up aces playing through the European version of the game in considerable style.

Cubed3 recently went hands-on with the latest build of the game, and should hopefully have an interview back from the developer in the near future.

This is a classic “Treasure” firing arcade title that will keep you coming back for more, and European gamers do not have long to wait since Sin and Punishment: Successor of the Skies's anticipated launch comes on 7th May, 2010!

It is going to sell poorly, worldwide. Sadly.

Might have to import this, as it doesnt look like a Australian/New Zealand release is happening. Unless it gets a limited release like punchout

And I'm sure the developers created this game with that knowledge, Nintendo are publishing this game with that knowledge. This is truly a game for the fans, for those people who ignore the hardcore titles the Wii has to offer, here's another great one for them to ignore.

As for me, I'm not sure whether I want it or not. I suppose I'd have to start with the first S&P game. I think it's brilliant it finally got a sequel though.

It's got co-op so it's worth getting.

Are you sure? I doubt there will be much story to the game. What it does have: bad graphics, limited stick control, a high price.

I would just go for the sequel. Smilie

Problem with these games is that they don't really have any life span, once you've completed it you rarely go back to it, i enjoyed the original that i had on the VC but i would go as far to part £40 for the sequel!
