    E310 | Rumour: 3DS Launching Holiday 2010?

A senior source with close ties to Nintendo has claimed that the new 3DS console will be available across the globe by "early next year at the latest".

Whilst revealing specs, prototypes and a slew of big-name games and movies for the 3DS, Nintendo carefully avoided disclosing pricing or release details. The official word is "Nintendo had no announcement to make on launch date or price".

That said, according to Eurogamer, a source with insider knowledge reckons the console will make its worldwide retail debut with a big holiday release. If not, sometime at the beginning of 2011.

Better start saving those pennies folks!

Well, they said it would be released in 2010, so I'm hoping that they release it before Christmas.

As long as the games won't be rushed for launch, then I'd be happy with it launching later this year.

Judging by the screen shots, I'd say some of the games are quite far along. And the 3DS itself looks pretty much like a finnished product. So I wouldn't be suprised if it was released in Japan before Chistmas.

Im guessing sony didnt show their handheld so they could play wait and see.
After stating that kids dont care about 3D (despite most 3d films being aimed at kids)
I wouldnt be surprised if we saw 2 widescreen touch screens with 3D and retina display, loads of apps with HD play back and PS3 ports.

It seems microsoft and sony are incapable of doing their own thing and have to follow rather then lead.

I think it will release in December in Japan, and March in Europe and the USA next year.

With all that amazing support, I'm happy to wait. Like Marzy said, developers should NOT rush the launch titles. It's already got enough content for me to be happy for the rest of the year. Smilie

I hope these arent not all launch titles. It would be good to stagger them. So you achieve maximum sales and so you dont have a drought afterwards.

I doubt they would stagger the release of the new handheld. Wii was available in all three major markets within two weeks. It's kinda expected in this day and age.
