EA Plans Spore Action RPG on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Comic-Con 2010 has revealed an interesting spot on its schedule for EA to announce a new Spore based Sci-fi Action-RPG from Maxis Studios in its conference in San Diego on July 24th.

The game could be the one announced in EA's financial report for the third quarter of 2010.

Comic-Con's Website states:

VIDEO GAME REVEAL: MAXIS STUDIO
July 24, 2010 6:00PM - 7:00PM @ Room 3

Maxis Studio (The Sims and Spore video games) has just announced their next project, a brand new, Sci-Fi Action-RPG based on the DNA of Spore. Join key leads from the dev team, Thomas Vu, Paul Sottosanti and Lauren McHugh, for the first game reveal to the public!

The platform for the game has yet to be revealed. But with Spore’s recent outings such as Spore Heroes on the Wii, it may have a chance of being on a Nintendo console.

Thanks to Neogaf.

Would you be interested in a Spore based RPG? Which Platform would you like to see it on?

In theory this could be great.
Spore was always a great engine, its procedural tech light-years beyond other games. Making an RPG based around it could work really well.

On a related note it would be cool if Scribble-naughts had its technology/ideology turned to an RPG structure too.
