Aonuma Aims for Early Q1 2011 Zelda Wii Release on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

In a recent interview with Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma, he reveals that the team are hoping for an "early 2011" release.

The latest game for Wii, Skyward Sword, boasts a unique painted art-style and fluid near 1:1 swordplay using MotionPlus. Since its debut at this year's E3 many had expected Nintendo to release the game around holiday 2010 at the earliest, perhaps slipping into the first half of next year.

By the looks of things we will be starting the new year with a new Link as Aonuma is aiming to wrap things up by early 2011, according to the latest edition of the Official Nintendo Magazine.

Cool, cant wait, just about to start playing Spirit Tracks then ill be all up to date with Zeldas again, well the 3d ones anyway, never managed to finish any of the 2d zeldas except minish cap

This is where it gets complicated - because I'm on a client's server and he's running nginx (essentially apache rewritten by some crazy Russian to be lean so I'm told) which I've never used before. So - I don't know exactly if these packages are needed here as a result of the upgrade to 2.4? It seems unlikely as this would be detailed in the upgrade docs. SS 2.3.6 runs beautifully on this server, s
I'm all sorts of confused, but leaning toward nginx not being the issue here.

Minish cap is probably the best, but Links Awakening/DX is also a must play sometime.

Assume there will be a means to play it...

They'll wait until AFTER E3 2011. They will focus on their lineup revealed at this E3 and on the launch of the 3DS and THEN focus on Zelda.

Actually we might get a Zelda in early 2011: Ocarina's remake.

Not sure where all the lack of faith is coming from. Nintendo hasn't been too big on not making release dates, especially ones set so far in advance, and especially when it comes to Zelda.
