Sakurai Impressed by Resident Evil Revelations 3DS on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Kirby, Smash Bros and Kid Icarus developer Masahiro Sakurai recently heaped a lot of praise on Capcom's new Resident Evil 3DS.

The new portable from Nintendo has a strong 74 title line-up, with new projects and ideas being thrown about ever since its debut at E3. Sakurai himself is working on Kid Icarus's return to starring role in Kid Icarus Uprising, and to inspire and gain some tips from other projects he's kept a close eye on Capcom's effort.

Speaking to Official Nintendo Magazine this week, Sakurai revealed that he was most impressed with Resident Evil Revelations as it "was very impressive. The real time graphics in that are very impressive and I've already seen things that I can learn from that."

And we are surprise at that?

Capcom is a total beast in everything they do so why not praise them. This is going to be fantastic!

I know it's how the game will look ingame, but I want to see some ACTUAL gameplay, if you know what I mean? Smilie

Yeah same Mush. The game looks great but some proper gameplay would be nice. The only thing I want is a much scarier atmosphere with enemies popping out of nowhere for a scare and the over the shoulder style of gameplay, that would make me very happy xD

Oh, I bloody hope it has over-the-shoulder gameplay. If it's anything like the godawful RE1 camera/controls I will die.

Well I don't mind the old style fixed camera but times have changed and Capcom have proved they can use the over the shoulder view and make the game quite creepy with the lost in nightmares dlc for RE5. Seriously can't wait for another trailer.

Times have indeed changed.. the original RE camera may of been awesome back then, but now it's clunky and awful. Imo, of course. Smilie

How far is this game in development?
