Epic Mickey's Cinematic Opening Video

Epic Mickey

Epic Mickey seems to look better, every time we see it. Recently, Cubed3 went hands-on with the upcoming adventure and had plenty of praise for the game. It's looking like it still has lots of potential, with Disney now revealing a gorgeous new trailer, showcasing the opening sequence to the game.

The new clip from the upcoming Wii exclusive, shows a mischievous Mickey Mouse causing havoc in another world. Dark and creepy enemies also make an appearance, that Mickey will likely have to tackle during his adventure.

What are your thoughts on Epic Mickey's opening cutscene?

It looks amazing. Smilie It's nice to see Mickey in a decent looking game that doesn't revolve around Keyblades. Smilie

I hope the game plays as well as this trailer presents it to be.

I have a hard time telling if it's real-time or not... If it's not it's a bit cheap. If it is, it's really good for Wii.

It makes me Smilie.

It requires great courage to look at oneself honestly, and forge one's own path.

I seem like the only person, but I'm not very impressed by the gameplay. I really like the cutscenes, nods/cameos to Disney characters and locales, and paint aspect, but I'm not really liking anything else. The platforming seems mediocre and the level design and look seems uninspiring (except for the 2D steamboat Mickey). The jumping seems really off too. I haven't played the game so I don't know, but this seems like a game I have to first play to decide if I want to get it. I'm 150% getting Metroid Other M, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and Kirby's Epic Yarn though.

Played the game at a recent Nintendo event and it was pretty good a platformer, the paint/thinner mechanics are great and can change the way you approach puzzles and attacking enemies.

That said, I too was sceptical before playing, but having tried an exploration and battle level, expectations have risen definitely.

Wow, you can't even tell Mickey's voice actor isn't Wayne Allwine anymore, even though all that was done was musing sounds and yells. It makes me wonder how he'll sound by the time Birth by Sleep rolls in...

But yeah, that was pretty incredible. Seeing those classic cartoon references in the calendar makes me smile =D

Have it pre-ordered and will give it a go by the end of the year once I have time to play it start to finish.
