THQ Announces Graphic Tablet for Wii on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo fans seem to be a creative bunch and THQ are set to ignite your art skills with the new uDraw GameTablet exclusively for Wii.

The accessory is similar to the regular computer tablets, coming with a 4x6 inch drawing space and pressure-sensitive stylus that gives a more natural drawing control. It connects to the remote for power and wireless connectivity. Save and print your work, learn new skills in the colouring and drawing companion game uDraw Studio. There'll also be two other games taking advantage of the new tech, Pictionary and Dood's Big Adventure, with tilt and roll movement for new ways to play.

Good idea, if a little pricey. Just imagine though if Nintendo made a new Mario Paint for this. Smilie

Oooh! Wasn't expecting this! Looks neat, definitely love me drawing apps. Interface looks a little tacky, but hopefully will offer a versatile experience.

A new Mario Paint would be awesomes as you said!

I like the idea though the software is far too basic. Something like Art Academy would be great. Smilie

It's like playing the DS on the Wii!

It requires great courage to look at oneself honestly, and forge one's own path.

Great for kids. I can easliy imagine young kids coming in after school and having a lot of fun with this.

Not something that I'd buy, but there are probably people out there... Smilie

$70 = 45GBP at the moment, and you get a game with this.

While I use a Wacom myself, Id be supprised if you could make a device much cheaper then $20 after the shop and publisher have taken their cuts.

Also, are you sure that was the RRP price? I think Bamboś are still about 100GBP new at the moment. You might have got a special discount/offer by the shop.

Depends on the type of tablet I guess, older Wacoms you might be able to find around that price - mine was about £50 for an A6 model back in the day. Loved it till I lost the bloomin' pen Smilie

Whilst this setup is cheaper, I would go for the PC/Mac tablet, Wacom or other, for the huge range of software for it.

I got a Wacom Bamboo - the RRP is £80 GBP but I got it on Amazon for £50.
And just looking at Google shopping now, all sites seems to offer the same price

I agree that this is probably the lowest price THQ could offer to get a decent enough profit, but for a similar amount of money, a PC tablet is a much more sensible idea than buying this Wii addon with limited uses.

Oh my, me wantz. So bad. Never got into any of the other weird gadgets for wii, but this one I like!

True enough.
They could have even made this USB and PC compatible too if they thought about it.

I love my Wacom Smilie Tis getting on a bit, and its only a small one, but it is very nice to use (even just as a mouse)
