Sonic Colours Multiplayer with Red Sonic?

In a new screenshot for Sonic Colours, a rather redish version of Sonic has emerged in what looks like a multiplayer feature.

SEGA have yet to comment, but the new screen found on Amazon Japan's listing (via Sonic Stadium), depicts two hedgehogs seeming to be racing with/against each other and the latter being a red/pinkish tone - if Amy were to ever procreate with our favourite prickly protagonist.

I thought it might be aswell, but I'm not sure.

The first thing you notice is that it's not splitscreen, and when it comes to online play Wii is not the first thing you think of.

Which makes me think it's a time trial mode with ghosts to beat.

One day I will be a real life anime.

It requires great courage to look at oneself honestly, and forge one's own path.

I don't think it's a timetrial mode at all - whilst there is probably that feature if it's a race, there is a second player ring count and power bar.

Looks like it might be fun. If this is an online multiplayer mode, I hope it's a fleshed out, well developed add-on and not some cheap-o, last minute, half-baked feature. Sick of that crap for sure! Smilie

I checked on Sonic Stadium yesterday and the information was removed from the Japanese Amazon site. So it could have been fake, or SEGA didn't want any more info leaked to the net like a lot of Sonic 4 was. There has been no confirmation on Wikipedia about it, only to say the only Wi-Fi enabled stuff is online leaderboards.
